What is a merchant services account?

A merchant services account is a commercial account that enables you to accept credit card transactions. It handles the transfer of funds from your customers’ credit card to your bank account.

Who will be the Processor for my Account?

NP (Nationwide Payments) powered by EVO International will be the processor but schmooze will be your agent to ensure everything goes smooth with your credit card processing. We are point of contact and will work on your behalf.

Who will be the processor for my merchant services account?

Nationwide Payments/EVO (NP)

Which credit cards will I be able to accept?

Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express (Opt-Blue) and PayPal Checkout Cards will be automatically set-up for you to accept.

How do I receive my funds and how long does it take?

After you process a payment, funds are stored either in your credit card terminal or on your processing network until your daily batch is closed. At that point, funds are sent electronically to your bank and are deposited directly into the account you specify. The process for your funds to reach your bank account is 2 business days (see schedule below). Please note banking holidays delay funds by one day. What type of reporting procedures do you provide?

Access to your account online to gain access to your daily processing batches and your monthly statement.

Do you have a long term contract?

NO! You’ll never be under a yearly contractual obligation. We’ll always do everything within our power to make sure that your experience is a positive one, but should you decide to cancel your account anyway, all we ask is that you give us 60 days’ advance notice with processing before making the switch. “See Cancellation Policy”

How do I receive Paper Supplies for my Terminal (If App)?

Give us a call and we’ll ensure that your paper is delivered to you (via personal delivery or UPS) within 2 business days.  

Are Gift Cards available through schmooze inc.?

ABSOLUTELY! We have many options to augment your marketing efforts and we would enjoy the opportunity to present you with a gift card program to fit your needs.

How long will it take to be set-up for processing?

On average, set-up from the time your application is submitted to underwriting takes 3-5 business days. This varies depending on multiple processing solutions added to your account structure.

Are all processors the same?

Absolutely not! There are a myriad of processors available today, and no two are the same. Here with schmooze inc. and Nationwide Payments, we work extremely hard each day to separate ourselves from the pack by offering services that the other simple don’t: 24/7/365 technical support, guaranteed lowest rates, highly-trained and professional customer service and much more.

What is your Rate Guarantee?

Regardless of who you are processing through currently, you are charged a fee every time you process a transaction. These rates are set by your processor and are often highly inflated. Our rate guarantee assures you that our version of this per-transaction rate will be the lowest in the industry. If you receive a quote from a competitor, we will happily match and do our best to beat that rate.

Why choose schmooze inc. and not my bank?

Would you call a credit card processing company to open a checking or savings account? Of course not…you call your bank. So why call a bank for credit card processing? Most banks have “agreements” to send businesses to a particular processor. The bank and the processor get their fees and from there on out, the bank does not provide customer service or technical support.
