What is a merchant services account?
A merchant services account is a commercial account that enables you to accept credit card transactions. It handles the transfer of funds from your customers' credit card to your bank account.

Who will be the processor for my merchant services account?
NPS (Nationwide Payment Solutions)

Which credit cards will I be able to accept?
Visa, MasterCard, & Discover will be automatically set up for you. American Express is optional. We can either set you up with an account or use your existing AMEX account. AMEX has separate rates and fees based upon your business and also deposits your AMEX transactions separately from NPS (Visa, MasterCard, & Discover). No processor has control over AMEX's rate structures, monthly fees, etc.

How do I receive my funds?
The funds from your transactions are deposited directly into the checking account you specify. You will need to provide a voided check for that account and that check must be pre-printed with your business information (Name, Address, etc.).

When will I see my funds reach my bank account?
  • (2) Business days for V/MC/Discover
  • (5) Business days for AMEX
What type of reporting procedures do you provide?
A monthly paper statement is mailed to you which typically arrives in the first week of the following month.

Can I view my account activity online?
Yes! There is online viewing to coincide with your monthly paper statement. Typically this is available for a small monthly fee. Please ask us for details.

Are my Credit Card Fee's Tax Deductible?
Yes. Credit Card Fee's are a cost of doing business and are tax deductible. Please consult your accountant on more details.

Are there any Monthly Minimum Fees?
NO

Do you have a long term contract?
NO! We do not have a long term contract; we earn your business day to day! See "Cancellation Policy"

I already have a terminal; can I use it with schmooze inc.?
In most cases you will be able to do so. We support all major suppliers and we would easily reprogram your terminal unless your current terminal is no longer PCI Compliant. See "Terminals" for a complete list of terminals that are no longer supported.

How do I receive paper supplies for my terminal?
Whenever you need paper for your terminal, you can either call us or visit our website and place your order there! We provide all paper supplies for free, excluding any POS systems.

Are Gift Cards available through schmooze inc.?
ABSOLUTLY! We have many options to augment your marketing efforts and we would enjoy the opportunity to present you with a gift card program to fit your needs.

How long will it take to be set-up for processing?
On average, it takes 5-7 business days. It varies depending on multiple solutions added to your account structure.

Why choose schmooze inc. and not my bank?
Would you call a credit card processing company to open a checking or savings account? Of course not...you call your bank. So why call a bank for credit card processing? Most banks have "agreements" to send businesses to a particular processor. The bank and the processor get their fees and from there on out, the bank does not provide customer service or technical support.
